Hampshire U16 A XV  15 - 12  Surrey U16 A

Hampshire had the better of the starts producing quick ball in attack and great line speed in defence. From a series of quick rucks Hampshire moved the ball wide producing a well taken try from Jack Adams. Hampshire’s 7-0 half time lead was levelled 10 mins into the second half when missed tackles in midfield allowed Surrey to score under the posts. Surrey now with momentum managed to bundle over the line following a series of rucks on the Hampshire 5m line. Hampshire then rallied and with 15 mins to play took 3 points following a series of Surrey penalties before claiming the match with 5 mins to go with a try out wide from Josh Law.

Great character and determination from the A team to manage the Surrey pressure before producing some excellent phase play to win the game.

Hampshire U16 B XV 5 - 31  Surrey U16 B

Very close first half with opportunities for both teams to score but solid defence at each end left a 0-0 half time score

Second half Surrey capitalized on a series of Hampshire errors to score 3 tries before Hampshire were able to respond with a well worked pattern of play that lead to a score in the corner by Max Williams. At 19-5 down the momentum appeared to have swung back to Hampshire only for the Surrey pack to produce a solid base from which to launch their number 8 for an individual bull dosing try closely followed by an equally strong run from the Surrey prop to produce their final try.

Hugh effort from the B team who had lost key player on the Saturday due to injury in the A team and players being promoted as a result.
