Due to the change if RFU regulations...
If you wish to play a 17 year old player in adult rugby, you now need to do the following:-
- Submit to the County Office a RFU CLUB Approval form – signatures must be wet signed, digital signatures not accepted. This needs to be only done ONCE a season.
- For each player submit to the County Office a RFU PLAYER Approval form – signatures must be wet signed, digital signatures not accepted. This needs to be done for every player wishing to play adult rugby.
- You should get an email approval from the County office for the CLUB Approval within 5 days.
- You should get an email approval from the County office for the PLAYER Approval within 5 days, you cannot play players without both CLUB and PLAYER approvals from the COUNTY.
- We do stress that the CLUB MUST balance playing / training time, playing contact matches twice in a weekend could be overplaying the above player.

- Girls Only Rugby-
Please note that U11’s age grade is the last mixed gender age group rugby:
the following season, if you had / have any girls playing at U11’s, they will have to join a Girls U13’s Age group at U12's. (a dual age band compromising U12 and U13 girls only).
If your club does not have a Girls only U13’s group to provide a pathway for your U11’s girls, you should signpost these players to the nearest centre for Girls age grade rugby
Currently there are centres for girls U13’s, U15’s and U18’s at the 5 main hub clubs:
Basingstoke
Ellingham & Ringwood,
Havant
Trojans
Winchester
U13's at Portsmouth
U13's, U15’s and U18’s at Alton
U13s and U15s at Bognor
There is a Local Rugby Partnership (LRP) for Girls rugby in operation in Hampshire which is supporting the development of girls only rugby in those clubs. The LRP holds its own meetings.
For any clubs interested in providing girls only rugby at U13’s at their own club, please contact your RDO, Kieran Spencer This email address is being protected from spambots.
