The County XV scored first with a penalty by Harry Rabjohn (Gosport & Fareham) and responded with a try by Will Strevens (Winchester) after Sussex scored in what was a very tight and highly competitive game.

8-7 to Hampshire at half time reflected the half in which some rugby of the highest quality was on display.

The second half continue what was a tremendous contest with the Captain Michael Summerfield (Andover) dominant in the forwards, but things worked for Sussex that didn't for Hampshire.

Sussex went ahead 17-8 when lose kicking didn't relieve pressure or open opportunities.

With 5 minutes to go Sussex knew that they were still in a game and opted to kick a penalty to stretch their lead to 20-8. Despite getting close Hampshire couldn't close the gap in the final minutes.

The Sussex Coaches recognised Kini Bavadra (Gosport & Fareham) as their player of the game from Hampshire.

A XV Match

The A XV made a really impressive start and were matching Sussex for first 20 minutes when it was 0-0.

Then George Finan (Vectis) was knocked out in a try saving tackle and that seemed to change the games shape.

Everything Hampshire tried seemed to break down before the five metre line due to excellent defence by Sussex and the ball carrier outpacing their support.

Captain Callum Buckley (Vectis) kept his team going but Sussex became dominant and the game finished 43-0 to Sussex.

The Sussex Coaches recognised Tom Palmer (Winchester) as their player of the game from Hampshire.
