Braydon’s big day at Twickenham

Brave Braydon Parry (aged 8) and his brother Carson are looking forward to Zealand rugby teams on the pitch at Twickenham for the anthems, before placing the match ball in the centre of the pitch for the kick off for the Quilter sponsored international.

Braydon and Carson are keen members of Ellingham and Ringwood Rugby Club's "Kids First" section. Braydon was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bone cancer which unfortunately resulted in him having an upper knee amputation in his right leg two months ago. Braydon who loves rugby and the whole club, is still fighting the disease, but is looking forward to having a prosthetic leg fitted very soon.

Braydon's coaches Luke Ryan and Roger Tomey have been incredibly supportive and Luke, who works for Quilter, has worked hard to put all the arrangements in place. Braydon and Carson will be walking onto the pitch with the players. They'll then be looked after for the rest of the day by a number of former England players, including World Cup winner Ben Cohen.

Braydon's Dad Michael said, "I'm so proud of Braydon and Carson, who gives his brother so much support". He added, "I can't thank Luke and Roger enough for all they've done and continue to do. Ellingham and Ringwood is a fantastic community rugby club and I know all our members will be supporting both Braydon and Carson when they walk out at Twickenham".

While Braydon's not going to be able to continue playing rugby, he's got his heart set on a career in coaching and both Luke and Roger are looking forward to supporting him in this in the New Year.
