After a very successful season of three County games and three convincing wins, six of the Hampshire U18 squad were selected for the London and South East trials
Sam Bridges
Zachary Clow
Tom Knight Owen
Tom Nixon,
Luke Spring
Karter Whittock
They attended trials at the London Irish Centre in Sunbury - a day of training and two twenty minute hard fought games from which 29 players were selected.
Sam, Zachary, Tom KO, Luke and Karter were selected to attend another training day at Old Pauline's in Thames Ditton on a freezing cold day from which an initial squad of 23 were chosen - three of the Hampshire squad getting through - Zach, Tom and Luke.
The next event is a match on Sunday 18th February when the L&SE team play against a team of the remaining players in a mixed Counties team - another opportunity for all players to play their best and gain their place in the final L&SE team.
The players have talked about the great rugby they are playing on these selection days and appreciate the high standard of coaching and the camaraderie amongst the players.
After Sunday there is a three day tournament when the L&SE Team play teams from the North, Midlands and South West which should prove to be a great weekend of rugby.
A fantastic opportunity for the players, the London and South East set up led by Steve Tomlinson has been very welcoming and well organised, supporting players who have been injured and encouraging players to keep trying for their place in the 23.
