3.       Girls Rugby – Age Grade Review:

Message for all Youth Chairs & Coaches of U11s / U12s:  As part of the Age Grade Review, from September 2016, girls age 11 or 12 on 31st August will only be eligible to play Girls U13s. Mixed rugby will not be permitted beyond U11s.

Clubs should consider the following three questions and what their position is:

                               I.           Are there girls playing in your U11s or U12s now?

II.           If yes, and your club doesn’t have a girls section currently, is there capacity to start a U13 team next season? (flexible competitions, most teams will play 7-a-side)

III.           If yes and there is no capacity to start a U13 Girls team, do you know which club you can signpost those players to, so as to continue their rugby?

If you need any support or advice please liaise with your club England Rugby Community Coach (Deane Lewis, Sharon Evans, Richard Freeman & Nick Parker)

4.      National Youth Council Survey:

The National Youth Council has launched a survey to help England Rugby understand volunteer behaviours and motivations for young people in rugby.

We are aiming to reach over 2,000 responses from across the country.

I would be grateful if you could promote the survey within your clubs and educational establishments to help us get as many responses as possible.

The data received will help with a wider project on raising awareness of the benefits of younger volunteers on committees and in clubs and will help to continue to shape the Young Rugby Ambassador programme.  The link for the survey ishttps://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NationalYouthCouncil
