Hampshire U16's drew 12-12 in a tense and well fought contest with Surrey at Old Cranleighans on Sunday 2nd November.
A great team effort from all 24 players who never gave up trying to play rugby against the well organised Surrey defence.
5-0 down after the first half Hampshire kicked off the second period with a 40m sprint to the line from prop Adam Warner.
Surrey came back with a converted break-away try to lead 12-5.
Hampshire then dominated possession and territory, but with the clock ticking away it seemed we would not get the deserved result.
However, after repeated penalties and attacks re-buffed by the solid Surrey defence, a midfield move opened up enough space for Ewan Watson to burst through to score under the posts.
Ollie Dunger then kicked the conversion to make it 12-12 with no time for the restart as the final whistle blew.
A special mention and a speedy recovery for Jacob Williams, who was injured after only 10 minutes with a bad ligament sprain and not the break that was first feared.
