The Hampshire Schools GIRLS Year 9/10 Festival Supported by Wave 105 will take place at  Trojans FC Stoneham Lane SO50 9HT  on Thursday 14th March.

 

CLUB Coaches are welcome to come and watch the wealth of talent at these festivals.

 

Team Entries:  Recognising that some schools will still be developing we will run two separate events on the day to cater for the varying abilities of the players:

 

  1. Still Developing Teams:Majority of players not yet competent in tackle, ruck & maul and still need to develop confidence
  2. Competent Teams:  Able to tackle, ruck & maul
  3. Confirmation of attendance  - Could all schools respond andadvise me which event that they would like to enter.  Note  if  you do not respond I will assume that your school will not be coming to the event.
  4. School Not Entered (Shown below) If your school is not shown in the below table and you would like to take part please let me know ivantorpey@rfu.comby close of play Friday 8th March.

Rules for the Yr 9&10  Competent game are as follows: .

- 10-a-side

- Rolling substitutions

- 5 Player Scrums – UNCONTESTED formed by the nearest 5 players

- Pitch size 50 x 45 metres

- Hand-offs allowed

- No Kicking out-of hand or for touch

- All restarts are a standing free pass

- 4 players in the line out, no ‘long’ or ‘quick’ throws

- No limit on number of players who can join a ruck or maul situation

 

 

Format for the Day:

 

  • Arrival and Registration: 9.30am – 9.45am, please register with the member of England Rugby Community staff in the car park who will give you further information.

 

  • Teacher’s Brief: 10.00am

 

  • First Games Commence: 10.15 – 10.30am

 

  • Latest finish time: 3.30pm

 

Please be reminded that the focus for all our festivals is on the children participating having fun, learning and developing their understanding of rugby. For many of the Yr7 children it will be their first experience and we would like them to leave feeling positive about the game. Our Core Values  are at the centre of everything  we do...
