There was a decided Hampshire feel to the Scotland Under 16s training camp at Murrayfield last weekend as three of the county's Under 16s squad took their place in the Scotland 'Green' squad.
George Prentice (pictured) from Crofton School and Havant RFC, Will Harding of Salesian College and Bracknell RFC and Hamish Janaway of Lord Wandsworth College and London Irish were all a part of the Green team, all looking to impress the Scottish selectors.
George, who has been a part of the HMS Temeraire HEPT programme and also a member of the Hampshire County squads over a number of years, was named in the 'Green' team which was comprised of exiled players who qualify for Scotland alongside Will and Hamish.
The players were treated to the full international experience, arriving at the ground in the Scotland team coach and playing on the pitches behind the famous Murrayfield Stadium.
The Green side lost the match 36-34 with all three of the Hampshire players performing admirably in the loss, which was a fine effort despite never playing together before but still producing a superb, fast-paced game.
It is another feather in the Hampshire Rugby cap to see three of their players included in the Scotland training camp and we congratulate them all on their achievement.
